Let us  beggin by defining the words power and Prayer. Power is thr abbility or opportunity to do something or to act where as Prayer is a fellowship and communion rather than merea requet to God or it is talking with God or it is a two way system.  In prayer we share and exchange the same thoughts with God. As are sult of this communication with God we recieve answers to our Prayers. The ability and opportunity of God to answer or respond to prayer thus power of prayer in this context.

 

Sripture: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for one another  so that you may be healed. THE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE. James 5v16.God can answers our prayers through many way for example healing as it is stated in this verse but the criteria is what matters for his response to our prayer. What is the Critria for God to realese his power? Answer: Reghteousness.

How Can we do about it?

The abreviation ACTS is used to help the children of God remembering important steps when praying. ACTS stands for

A: Adoration/Praise

C: Confession(of sins)

T:Thanksgiving

S:Suprication

 

ADORATION/PRAISE: When praying we need to show great love and worship him, approving that he is God and  that we admire him.Jesus beggun his prayer by praising God concerning his fatherly love, mighty name and the glory of his Kingdom. Our father in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth

as it is in heaven Mathews5v9.By  doing this we shore great respect that he deserves.

 

CONFESSION; We need to admit that we are guity before God for commiting various siins. When we commit sin, we wrong against GOD. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3vs 23. Surely the arm of the Lord is not  too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separeted you form God: for sins have hidden his face form you so that he will not hear. Isaiah59vs1-3. But despite our unfitness for his glory he is able to forgive our sin through mercy and grace. as far as we repent and turn from darkness or evil. If we claim to be withought sin we deceive ourselves and the truthis not in us. IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS,HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUSTAND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNES 1Johnvs8-9.

THANKSGIVING: We have to express gratitude to God because we owe him gratitude for what he has done to our live

Be joyful always; pray continuation; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Gos will for you in Christ JESUS. 1 Thessalonians 4v16SUPPLICATION: We need to be very humble when giving request to God consider that we are not deserving of his glory since we dont meat the criteria to enter his kingdom but to be glad for his mercy, love, favor and grace on us hence capitalizing his will always. Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who ask receives, he who seek finds and to him who knocks the door will be opened.Matt7v7. The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quit you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing; The sorrows for the appointed feasts, I will remove from you; they are burden and reproach to you. At that time I will deal with he who oppress you; I will rescue the lame and gather those who have been scattered. I w.ill give them praise and honour in every land where they were put to shame.
